Joseph’s House asks for help following flood

TROY, NY (WRGB) — A failed sump pump caused 3 inches of flooding in the basement of Joseph’s House and Shelter in Troy over the weekend. The Director of Development of the non-profit emergency shelter, Frank Sainato, says the damages come at a huge cost.

“Is there going to be a need to replace the sump pump? This is a large building, and it’s at the bottom of the hill, so it will most likely be a pricier one than a smaller unit,” says Sainato

The basement was used to store recent donations and personal belongings of the residents. Sainato says it is a race against time to save the items placed directly on the ground…
