Driver dies in 2-vehicle crash on Hwy 43, other driver flees on foot: CHP

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A driver died on Monday after his vehicle was struck by another on Highway 43 near Delano, according to the California Highway Patrol.

On June 23 at about 2:08 a.m., CHP Bakersfield Area units responded to Highway 43 and Garces Highway for a two-vehicle collision, officials said.

According to CHP, the man was driving a 2017 Toyota Camry on southbound Highway 43, north of Garces Highway, at an unknown speed. At the same time, a 2001 Toyota Tacoma was traveling westbound on Garces Highway and approaching Highway 43, also at an unknown speed.
