11th Annual Madeira Beach Sunset 5K

6:30-9 p.m. Friday, June 27. John’s Pass Park, 12850 Gulf Lane, Madeira Beach. Lace up and hit the sand for the Madeira Beach Sunset 5K. This chip-timed race starts and finishes at John’s Pass Park and takes place entirely on the beach. Enjoy scenic shoreline views as you run, jog, or walk your way through the course. Please note, this is an open course, so expect beachgoers along the route. Moth Night

8-10 p.m. Friday, June 27. Brooker Creek Preserve Environmental Education Center, 3940 Keystone Road, Tarpon Springs. Discover Denizens of the Dark at the Brooker Creek Preserve Environmental Education Center. After a brief lecture, venture into the night to find moths of many sizes and colors, all attracted to our artificial lights. This evening experience is best for adults and children over 12. Parade Day and Festival

2-10 p.m. Saturday, June 28. North and South Straub Park, Bayshore Drive NE, St. Petersburg. As the largest Pride Festival in Florida, this iconic event unites members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies for a day filled with love, pride, and connection. Attendees can enjoy a spectacular parade, dynamic performances by national and local entertainers on the main stage, and explore 100+ booths featuring local vendors, food purveyors, artists, and community organizations.

THURSDAY

West Florida Y Runners Club

5 a.m. Thursdays, June 26. Northside Christian, 7777 62nd Ave. N., St. Petersburg. Coached track workouts meet weekly. An all-paces welcome, 5-mile run meets at 5 a.m. in Dunedin at 2646 Bayshore Blvd. in front of the gym. Runners also meet on Sundays at 6 a.m. for a 13-mile loop, at the Clearwater City parking lot, 112 S. Osceola Ave. People run a variety of distances, up to 13 miles, and at a variety of paces.
