Preliminary exam set for Michigan mother whose toddler grabbed gun, accidentally shot self

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A parent whose toddler accidentally shot herself in early May is set to appear for a preliminary exam on Tuesday.

Ashley Howard, 35, was previously charged June 6 with safe storage violations – minor present, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS).

She was given a $1,000 personal recognizance bond, which was posted the same day, court documents obtained by News Channel 3 detailed.
