Wilmington law enforcement officials have taken two men into custody following observations and subsequent charges relating to firearms and narcotics. According to a police report, at nearly 11:56 a.m. on June 17, Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division personnel were patrolling the intersection of Chestnut and South Harrison Streets. There, they noticed what appeared to be drug-related activities.
The two individuals, identified as Donald Saunders, 28, and Christopher Williams, 29, were arrested without resistance. Police search yielded a .380 caliber handgun and 5.67 grams of crack cocaine. Saunders’ charges were stark, including possession of a firearm during a felony, multiple counts involving firearms or ammunition prohibitions, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and intent to deliver a controlled substance. Saunders’ court encounter resulted in a $60,000 bail, strictly in cash, as reported by the police dispatch.
Conversely, Christopher Williams is facing one charge: possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. His arraignment, similar to that of Saunders, took place in Justice of the Peace Court 11. Williams is now behind bars at the Howard R.
