E. coli warning signs posted at Boise swimming area

BOISE, Idaho — There are warning signs at Esther Simplot Park after water testing revealed high levels of dangerous bacteria near a popular swimming spot.

Boise Parks and Recreation posted the warnings around the pier and island area of Pond 1 after E. coli concentrations exceeded Idaho health standards, according to a city announcement on Monday.

The contamination appears limited to that specific area. Weekly water quality monitoring found acceptable bacteria levels at Quinn’s Pond and other sections of Pond 1, including the children’s beach area…
