Two Cairo EMS workers charged in altered timecard scheme

CAIRO — Two town ambulance workers were charged after one was allegedly paid for hours they did not work.

State Police announced the arrests on Saturday of the two Cairo residents, both of whom are town employees.

The investigation, which began in January, allegedly revealed that a male employee worked shifts assigned to a female employee while she worked as a paramedic elsewhere. The man then allegedly altered time cards on three different occasions to show his colleague worked the shifts so she would receive the pay…
