AKRON, Ohio (WJW) — The Akron Police Department is remembering one of its dedicated detectives, who died unexpectedly.
Akron Police Chief Brian Harding announced the death of Detective Clay Cozart, whom he called a “respected and beloved” member of the Akron Police Department.
Cozart started his career with Akron Police Department in 1995 and served the city for nearly three decades.

He also served as FOP president from 2020 to 2023, and most recently worked with the juvenile unit, Harding said in a statement.
