Overnight train heist in downtown Bakersfield caught on camera

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Shocking video of a train burglary in downtown Bakersfield Monday night showed thieves taking boxes, crates and more from train cars on the tracks on N street, near 14th street.

Yellow totes littered the railway as a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train left Bakersfield. Multiple thieves were seen filling bins with Amazon packages as the train rolled by with open cargo doors. More packages laid about the railway, as more people looked for unopened boxes.

The entire operation lasted three hours. Bakersfield police said they received a call for a possible theft, but it was later canceled…
