A South Carolina man was fired from his role with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department and later arrested for something he did while on the job, officials said.
Christopher Moore was charged with misconduct in office Tuesday, the sheriff’s department said in a news release. The 29-year-old was fired last week, a day after investigators learned that Moore had used his position to gain a personal relationship, according to the release.
On June 19, investigators learned that Moore, while employed as a deputy, conducted a traffic stop where he obtained a woman’s personal information through his position as a law enforcement officer, the sheriff’s department said.
