The Jefferson County and Madison County school boards will save over $150,000 each in salary and benefit costs for three administrators at the start of the 2025-26 school year.
With unanimous approval, the Jefferson County School Board gave the final greenlight during a June 23 meeting for the initiative spearheaded by Jefferson Superintendent Jackie Pons and Madison Superintendent Karen Pickles. The Madison County board approved the plan on June 2.
The agreement is to specifically split the costs for directors over transportation, ESE services, and human resources. The leaders said the three posts were chosen because the administrators won’t be burdened with heavy loads since the two districts are fairly small…
