A Chicago woman who drove her car into a crowd of protesters in the Loop on June 10, injuring a 66-year-old woman, had her children in the vehicle and was on bail for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident in Will County, prosecutors said.
Deirdre Kemp, 30, surrendered to police on Thursday to face charges related to the incident, which occurred near State and Monroe streets during a protest against President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement policies.
CPD officers had blocked off much of the Loop to accommodate the large demonstration, but Kemp ignored officers’ verbal and physical commands to redirect her vehicle, prosecutors said…
