Woman from Ottawa Leads Deputies on Two-County Chase

A traffic stop on the east end of Ottawa turned into a chase over two counties and multiple charges for the 20-year-old driver.

In an early-Monday-morning pursuit that allegedly reached 115 miles per hour, La Salle County deputies tracked Rebecca Uptegrove of Ottawa into Kendall County, where Kendall deputies picked up the chase. Officers report that Uptegrove then led the chase back into La Salle County, where she fled on foot. She was apprehended a short time later, and arrested for speeding 115 in a 55, unlawful possession of a firearm, improper lane usage, unlawful parking, and failure to signal.
