ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A juvenile court judge ruled that a 15-year-old boy charged in connection with a January attempted carjacking that left a teen suspect dead can be released while awaiting trial, according to Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman.

Court records show this is the teen’s 7th referral to the juvenile justice system, the DA added.
Investigators accused the 15-year-old and six others of trying to carjack a couple at gunpoint on Tramway Boulevard in January. Police said the female victim was shot and injured. Her husband returned fire, killing 14-year-old Alonzo Sanderson, one of the suspects.
