Attention drivers in northeast Colorado: starting July 7, you’ll need to prepare for some roadway disruptions as the Colorado Department of Transportation kicks off a resurfacing project along a one-mile stretch of US Highway 287, northwest of Fort Collins. In the stretch between Mile Points 362.65 to 363.45 near Owl Canyon Road, the road will undergo essential maintenance, which is expected to wrap up by late July, according to CDOT.
The series of improvements designed to extend the road’s lifespan include milling, adding new striping, putting up signs, and installing delineators, with Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. on contract to carry out the project and while it might be an inconvenience the idea is to ultimately lead to a safer and smoother driving experience. CDOT’s Regional Transportation Director Heather Paddock noted, “US 287 has been a priority project identified in our 10-year plan,” and “the project’s new striping will produce clearer roadway lines and safety through this stretch of highway,” as stated by CDOT…
