One person dead, four injured after four-car crash along Hwy 99 in Lane County

LANE COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) – One person has died and four others were injured after a four-car crash along Highway 99 in Lane County last week.

According to preliminary investigation results from Oregon State Police, a Chevy Silverado heading south on Hwy 99 slowed down to make a turn.

State police say a Mazda Tribute then rear-ended a Chevy Tahoe that was directly behind the Silverado. The driver of the Mazda, identified as 35-year-old Joseph Peters, swerved into oncoming northbound traffic and hit a Ford F-350 hauling a trailer loaded with dirt and rocks…
