Jury finds man not guilty of deadly 2024 stabbing in downtown Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. — A man was found not guilty by a jury on Friday after he was accused of stabbing and killing another man in downtown Spokane in 2024.

Spokane police arrested 50-year-old Anthony Chastain in November 2024 and charged him with second-degree murder after he allegedly stabbed Javier Chavez near Hope House.
