SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane leaders are challenging the Spokane Business Association (SBA) after it published a recent homelessness study that claimed more than 50% of those experiencing homelessness in the city moved to Spokane from elsewhere.
SBA says it had an independent firm survey about 260 people in Spokane who are homeless. SBA says the survey questions included things like where they were born, what high school they went to, and where their family lives.
The study found that 80.7% of people experiencing homelessness in Spokane were not born in Spokane, and 65.9% were not born in Washington state…
