Good day – Let’s have a fabulous Wednesday! Yesterday was our hottest day of the year (so far…) with a high of 96°. Today, afternoon temperatures could get just as hot with highs in the upper 90s. Our impacts today come in two parts: the intense heat and then the severe weather risk late this evening.
AFTERNOON HEAT
While we don’t have a widespread heat advisory like Tuesday, everyone still needs to practice heat safety. Highs remain in the upper 90s with heat index values in the triple digits for several hours this afternoon. This will easily wear you down. Stay hydrated and take frequent breaks from the heat.
EVENING STRONG T-STORMS
Unfortunately for those intense hot temperatures, “cooling” storms don’t arrive until late this evening, closer to sunset after we have already passed the hottest part of the day. From about 6/7pm until midnight, strong to severe storms are possible as a wave of storms travels down the east coast……
