Teen charged in killing of duck, chicken on Northwest Side

A 15-year-old teenager was charged in connection with killing a duck and a chicken in the backyard of a man’s home on the Northwest Side in May, police said.

The teen was arrested by the Chicago Police Department Animal Crimes Team on June 24 in the 3000 block of West Harrison Street after he was identified as the person who entered a yard and “intentionally caused the death of two animals,” according to the Chicago Police Department Office of News Affairs.

The suspect is not being identified because he is a minor. He was charged with two felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and a misdemeanor count of criminal trespass to land, police said…
