Officials monitoring water levels as Cedar River rises in Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Iowa’s News Now) — More rain is on the way to eastern Iowa on top of the rain that’s already fallen over the last week. That is prompting concern along the Cedar River in eastern Iowa as the excess water flows into the waterway.

A Flood Watch is posted along the Cedar River from Vinton down toward Columbus Junction.

City officials in Cedar Falls and Cedar Rapids are monitoring the situation with early projections showing the river to rise above flood stage in both towns.
