Lincoln police arrest teens after shooting incident near 11th and Hill Streets

LINCOLN, Neb. — The Lincoln Police Department has arrested two teenagers following a shooting incident that occurred on Friday, June 13, near 11th and Hill Streets. Authorities reported that a 14-year-old male was found with gunshot wounds to his buttocks and lower left leg, while a 15-year-old male was taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.

Investigations revealed that the 14-year-old was visiting a female at a residence when a 15-year-old friend of the female’s brother confronted him. Police said the suspect, wearing a ski mask, allegedly pointed a gun at the 14-year-old and demanded his belongings. In the ensuing altercation, the 14-year-old shot the 15-year-old twice, and the 15-year-old returned fire, hitting the 14-year-old three times.

Further inquiries uncovered that the 15-year-old suspect had borrowed a gun from another 15-year-old for the robbery. Both firearms, later found in the grass outside the residence, were determined to be stolen…
