UT Health San Antonio awarded $3.4M for cancer research, HPV outreach

UT Health San Antonio has received $3.4 million in state funds to research treatments for drug-resistant cancers and expand HPV vaccination outreach.

The Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) awarded the university more than $2.4 million to tailor treatments for stubborn cancers such as brain tumors and soft tissue sarcomas that do not respond well to current therapies, the university announced.
