Anchorage has seen 16 people hit and killed by vehicles in the past 12 months

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – In the past 12 months, 16 people in Anchorage were killed in pedestrian versus vehicle collisions, according to the Anchorage police department (APD).

This comes after Anchorage saw its highest amount of pedestrian fatalities in the past decade in 2024. Last year, the department reported 14 deaths. The year prior, in 2023, there were only six pedestrian fatalities.
