BOSTON (WWLP) – A man who is awaiting trial on murder charges was sentenced to prison on another case for distributing fentanyl.
In a news release sent to 22News from the Department of Justice, 36-year-old Csean Skerritt was caught selling approximately 52.3 grams of fentanyl in exchange for $1,500 in February 2023. He pleaded guilty to distribution of 40 grams or more of fentanyl and was sentenced on Monday to 68 months in federal prison, followed by four years of supervised release.

The Boston Herald reports that 13-year-old Tyler Lawrence of Norwood was shot and killed after leaving his grandparents’ home on January 29, 2023. The Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance said that Tyler loved spending his weekends at his grandparents’ house in Mattapan and was a seventh-grade student at Coakley Middle School in Norwood.
Skerritt was indicted for first-degree murder in connection with Lawrence’s death.
