Police: Pair arrested, charged in Columbia car break-ins

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – Police in Columbia say two men are facing charges for their role in a recent string of car break-ins.

The Columbia Police Department said 28-year-old Raekwon Ford and 18-year-old Shamari Jones Jr., 18, have each been charged with auto breaking, criminal conspiracy, larceny and financial credit card theft. Ford was additionally charged with possession of a weapon by a prohibited person

Ford and Jones are both convicted felons and are prohibited by law from possessing firearms.

According to police, the two allegedly broke into multiple vehicles at the 600 block of Candi Lane on June 22 and stole multiple items, including two firearms. Witnesses then gave police descriptions of the suspects and which why they were heading…
