‘Human error’ listed as factor in fiery semi crash

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Louisville Metro Police has released its report on the fiery semi crash that shut down I-65 for most of the day on June 13.

The report cites “human error” as a factor in the crash, saying that the driver did not have the truck under control.

The semi was heading into Kentucky from Indiana on I-65 southbound and, as the driver was changing lanes at the split from I-65 to Jefferson Street, he hit a concrete barrier. That impact caused the semi to catch fire and left it dangling over Spaghetti Junction as the driver jumped out to safety. He was hurt, but survived…
