DENVER (KDVR) — One suspect is dead after police said they chased and shot an allegedly armed man outside a middle school in Denver on Monday night.
Around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, Denver Police Department Chief Ron Thomas said Denver police and Denver Public School Safety officers responded to a call of two people near the front of Kepner Beacon Middle School.
Officers found a man and a woman near the front of the school, and Thomas said they were able to contact them and get their identifications. While officers were doing a warrant check on both of them, Thomas said the man asked if he could leave, and the officers said he couldn’t.
