The city of Dallas unveiled a sign June 18 signifying its inclusion in the Oregon Film Trail with a ribbon cutting ceremony with Mayor Rich Slack doing the honors as city councilors Larry Biggs (left) and David Shein hold the ribbon along with Jane Ridley of the Oregon Film Trail. The sign was installed at the corner of Mill and Main Street, across from the former Blue Garden Restaurant, where a portion of the 1986 movie “Promise” was filmed starring James Woods and James Garner. Dallas joins more than 40 physical signs and hundreds of digital scene locations across Oregon that celebrate and recognize this history with the installation of a sign highlighting the location where filming occurred, and more about the film and the people behind it.
