Grand Rapids riverfront hotel eyed for nearly 200-unit apartment conversion

A 162-room hotel and adjacent banquet facility along the Grand River would be converted into nearly 200 apartments after a developer acquired the property north of downtown Grand Rapids.

Jack Hoedeman shared development plans Wednesday for the Radisson Hotel Grand Rapids Riverfront, and noted that early vetting shows the seven-story hotel could be converted to 139 apartment units. Another 60 units could be added in a second phase.

Hoedeman purchased the hotel property at 270 Ann St. NW for $8.6 million at the end of last year, Crain’s Grand Rapids Business reported at the time…
