Glass City Riverwalk project nears its halfway point

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Glass City Metropark was just the start of the overall Riverwalk project, a decade-long undertaking to beautify the riverfront. It’ll eventually stretch all the way from the Veterans Glass City Skyway to the Anthony Wayne Bridge on both sides of the river.

“The rest of International Park, we’re looking and currently working with our design professionals, looking at overlooks, fishing opportunities, and how we make sure that parking fits more of a park setting,” explained Jennifer Van Horn, chief of planning & construction officer for Metroparks Toledo. “So just really looking at those features and making sure we’re designing connections into the neighborhood.”

The Glass City Riverwalk Project is now nearing its halfway point. The project was expected to take 10 years and is on track to be completed by 2030 or sooner…
