CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – An Eastern Iowa man has been found guilty on federal charges for selling fentanyl and heroin, resulting in the overdose deaths of a couple in Marion.
On Wednesday, a jury convicted Cody Kinzie Dittmar, 34, of distributing and conspiring to distribute heroin and fentanyl after a three day trial in Cedar Rapids.
Prosecutors say Dittmar began selling heroin and fentanyl after he was he was put on supervised release from federal prison in 2023 for a previous conviction. They say on July 1, 2023, Dittmar and Alysha Dittmar sold a mixture of heroin, fentanyl, and xylazine to a person in Marion. That person and his wife used the drugs and both died from overdoses…
