Retired teacher keeps the Will Rogers Wildcats connected

EDMOND, Okla. (KFOR) – Inside a Johnnies Charcoal Broiler in Edmond, the Wildcats aren’t just sharing their love of the Thunder, or even just sharing a meal. They have a shared history.

In 1970, a new open concept school called Will Rogers Elementary opened in Edmond. In fact, a young Kent Ogle was a Will Rogers Elementary Wildcat.

Shortly after that, Gloria Tate joined the teaching staff and a camaraderie was born. She was known for dressing up for all the special days and making learning fun for the students starting some half century ago.

“I’m honoring a longtime dear friend” says Pam Lovell who nominated Gloria. “Se has kept 45 plus teachers and staff informed with her compassion and love for teaching. Her love for her friends.”…
