Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Columbia Charter Township has reduced the hours of the township park at Clark Lake located on Hyde Road, and has also reduced parking availability, in response to numerous instances of arrests made for poor behavior at the park. A recent example of this happened earlier in the week. Authorities were dispatched to the park on June 22nd at 7:46 pm for a fight that officials say had more than twenty individuals involved.
Officers from Columbia Charter Township Police Department, Napoleon Township Police Department, Jackson County Office of the Sheriff, and the Michigan State Police responded to restore order. On arrival the initial altercation that created the multiple calls into 911 had dispersed. However, police say an additional altercation between other individuals apart from the initial incident was gaining momentum to becoming a physical altercation.
