3rd-strike offender gets life term for Bakersfield Rite Aid robberies

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A man who repeatedly stole from a Rite Aid store in Bakersfield — pepper-spraying an employee in the face on one occasion — was sentenced to a life term in prison Thursday as a third-strike offender.

Jonathan Goodrich, 45, was sentenced to 100 years to life in prison, according to court records.

He was convicted in April on three counts of robbery, two counts of possessing a tear gas weapon, attempted robbery and petty theft. The court found true he had two prior strike convictions for serious violent felonies…
