3 people arrested after found running illegal recycling center

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Sheriff’s Office Rural Crime Investigators Unit arrested 3 people in connection with running an illegal recycling center.

On June 25, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 3000 block of Belle Terrace in which a search warrant was served. Upon their arrival, approximately 6,000 pounds of large gauge commercial copper wire were found.

1 arrested in string of wire copper thefts, causing over $100K in property damage in SW Kern County

Officers arrested Bakersfield residents Filimon Gil Villagrana, 46, on conspiracy charges, Teresa Garcia Rodales, 32, on illegal possession of copper wire and conspiracy charges and Christian Vasquez Hernandez, 34, on illegal possession, conspiracy, possession of unregistered firearm and possession of stolen property charges.

All were booked at the Kern County Inmate Reception Center…
