Man accused of shooting at Calhoun County deputies, injuring K-9 booked into jail

CALHOUN COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) – A man accused of opening fire at Calhoun County deputies and injuring a K-9 last month is now behind bars.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday that 45-year-old Jermaine Halmon was jailed after spending 25 days in a hospital.

Halmon is charged with three counts of attempted murder, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and cruelty to a police K-9.
