GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man already in jail charged with first-degree murder is now charged with having multiple shanks while behind bars.
Dominike Sterling, who is already in jail for the alleged murder of Daryl Yarber in November of 2023, is now charged with possession of a weapon in jail, according to court documents.
In March, deputies were advised that Sterling had passed an inmate a note to give to another inmate, his co-defendant, Tyriq Bettison, that read something along the lines of “Don’t talk or tell anyone about the case, you’re already spending a long time in prison, you could pay somebody to get this sharpened and take care of business,” read a probable cause document.
