Walgreens employee hurt while trying to stop shoplifters

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Walgreens employee was injured Wednesday when she tried to stop someone from leaving the building with unpaid merchandise, according to the Mobile Police Department.

According to an MPD news release, at about 10 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the Walgreens at 3948 Airport Blvd., in reference to a robbery.

When officers arrived, they learned that a store employee had received minor injuries when they got into a struggle with two women who were reportedly trying to leave the store with merchandise they had not paid for, the release said…
