A Leesburg woman has been arrested as the third suspect in the 2024 fatal shooting of an elderly man at a Citgo gas station.
On Thursday, the Leesburg Police Department successfully found and arrested the third suspect in connection with the Sept. 28, 2024, shooting at the Citgo gas station, located at 2101 W Main St., Leesburg.
Jasmine Tynise Gainey, 21, was taken into custody following a relentless investigation by Leesburg police detectives, to find the latest suspect in the death of 87-year-old Clarence Ervin. Gainey has been charged with first-degree premeditated homicide and aggravated battery with a firearm on a victim over the age of 65.
On the afternoon of Sept. 28, 2024, the LPD responded to the shooting at Citgo. Upon arrival, they learned three suspects had approached a vehicle. Two suspects remained at the passenger side while one approached Ervin, who was seated inside. A confrontation ensued, resulting in Ervin being shot…
