LOS ANGELES – A new poll released this week by the Center for Union Facts, suggests that a majority of Los Angeles voters – including those from union households – believe a recently approved $30 minimum wage for hotel and airport workers will lead to job losses and higher consumer costs.
The wage increase, approved by the Los Angeles City Council in May, is already being challenged through a referendum drive. Meanwhile, the union that backed the ordinance, UNITE HERE Local 11, is aggressively fighting to defend the law.
