PORT CLINTON – No foul play is suspected by officials in the employee death at the Ottawa County water treatment plant on Monday. The last boil water advisories, due to the fatality, are expected to be cleared by Thursday afternoon.The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office has identified the deceased as Jeffrey Kukay. He had more than 20 years of experience working at the plant, according to Ottawa County Sanitary Engineer Zachary Mulder.
“I can tell you that there is no evidence of foul play and no trauma upon first investigation,” Ottawa County Sheriff Stephen Levorchick said. “We ensured there is no criminal activity.”
The Sheriff’s case report stated that Kukay’s body was discovered in Filter Tank #1 at about 6:15 a.m. on June 23 “floating face down in a tank filled with water.”…
