LELAND, NC (WWAY) — A number of celebrations will be taking place in the Cape Fear prior to and on the Fourth of July in the Cape Fear. Here is a list of events happening in the WWAY coverage area.
Bladen County:
- The town of White Lake will host its Fourth of July fireworks show on Friday, July 4th, at 9 p.m. at 1879 White Lake Drive.
Brunswick County:
- There will be a fireworks show at the Oak Island Pier (705 Ocean Drive) on Tuesday, July 1st, starting at 9 p.m.
- The 2025 4th of July Celebration in Southport will be held from June 27th to July 4th. Fireworks in Southport will be held on Friday, July 4th, starting at 9 p.m. along the waterfront.
Columbus County:
- The town of Chadbourn will host at Food Truck & Firework Show on Saturday, July 5th, from 5 – 9 p.m. The fireworks show will be at the Chadbourn Event Field. Food trucks will be on North Brown Street beside the town hall.
- Columbus County will host their “Let Freedom Ring” celebration on Thursday, July 3rd, at South Columbus High School. Gates open at 6 p.m. There will be live entertainment and a fireworks show.
- Lake Waccamaw will host a golf cart and bicycle parade on Friday, July 4th. Cyclists must wear helmets. Participants should meet on Columbia Avenue near Elizabeth Brinkley Park at 9:30 a.m. to line up. The parade will begin at 10 a.m., proceed down Lake Shore Drive to Flemington, and end at Town Hall. Hills grocery store will provide a holiday treat for participants, and an ice cream and snack food truck will be on site before and after the parade. The Lake Waccamaw Fire Department will sell hot dogs that day. Families are encouraged to decorate their carts and bicycles and wear patriotic attire.” The residents of the Lake typically have fireworks, but they are not on a planned schedule, and there is limited viewing if you are not a resident or visiting.
- The community of Brunswick will host a 4th of July Extravaganza at the Columbus County Fairgrounds at 886 Prison Camp Road in Whiteville on Tuesday, July 1st. The celebration begins at 7 p.m. and will end once the fireworks show concludes.
