TV9 Rewind: Young adults take up tobacco

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – A new University of Iowa study shows minors continue to get their hands on tobacco products despite a federal law signed in 2019 that increased the minimum age to buy tobacco products from 18 to 21.

According to data collected between 2017 and 2023, about 1 in 4 retail sites had a tobacco sales violation.
