Beloved Restaurant Closing After 12 Years ‘Effective Immediately’

Twelve years is a long time for a local restaurant to stay in business, especially considering how common it is for restaurants to close soon after opening. According to the National Restaurant Association, there’s a 30 percent failure rate in the food industry, which means that a lot of establishments just can’t make it past their first few years.

The biggest reason for restaurants having to close is economic problems, according to Toast. That was especially a factor during the pandemic, when more than 110,000 restaurants in the United States shut their doors, either temporarily or for good. Toast also notes that not having a defined restaurant concept can lead to failure.
