KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knoxville Area Transit hosted a community event Thursday aimed at getting more people involved in conversations about the city’s public transportation system.
The “KAT Krawl” took riders along Route 31, stopping at several local breweries. Along the way, participants heard brief presentations about bus frequency, accessibility and infrastructure. They were also given activities to share input on how the system could better serve the Knoxville community.
“I hope that more people use transit because of this event,” Clay Mercer, a transit planner with KAT, said. “I hope it shows people how transit can work for you and I hope that KAT sees an increase in ridership from this.”…
