Great Plains SPCA offering free microchipping for pets ahead of July 4 celebrations

MERRIAM, Kan. (KCTV) – Great Plains SPCA is encouraging pet owners to be proactive when it comes to keeping their animals safe around and during July 4.

Independence Day is one of the busiest times of the year for lost pet reports. To help protect pets, Great Plains SPCA is hosting a Microchip Clinic from June 29 to July 3.

Microchips will be free with a donation for residents of the jurisdiction cities:

  • Shawnee
  • Lenexa
  • Leawood
  • Overland Park
  • Prairie Village
  • Bonner Springs
  • Lake Quivira
