More than 5,400 LES customers lost power around 1:30 Friday afternoon following an incident near 27th and Fletcher. “We found out that an excavator made contact with our higher voltage power line, which caused a larger outage in the area,” says LES spokesperson Kelly Porter.
She says the outage lasted about 30 minutes and impacted customers in an area from north 7th to 36th and Superior to Alvo Road. “But we were able to get everything back on. There may be some additional repairs needed, but we were able to reroute power so that our customers weren’t without power for too long on this hot day.”…
