Weld County Sheriff’s Office Asks for Leads in 50-Year Old Cold Case Murder of Greeley Woman

The Weld County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) brought renewed attention to a cold case from 1975 involving the murder of Marjorie Sue Fithian in a post on Facebook this week. The sheriff’s office said there are no new clues in the case after an extensive investigation.

On June 24, 1975, Fithian and her 18-month old son did not return to Greeley following a family visit in Denver. Fithian was found dead on a gravel road about 50 miles away from Denver.

When Fithian was found with a gunshot wound to the head, her uninjured son held her hand. On the 50th anniversary of the death, there are still no substantiated theories about how Fithian was murdered…
