Last Saturday, deputies were dispatched to a property in Eatonville after reports surfaced of intruders. The caller indicated the trespassers were still on site. Authorities detained two men, aged 56 and 55, after discovering them driving around the property in a truck, collecting scrap metal and other items without consent. A firearm was also found in their possession, as detailed in the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department Blotter report.
The following day in Gig Harbor, deputies responded to an incident involving a female driver and a bicyclist. Eyewitnesses described the driver as reckless, navigating her vehicle aggressively around the cyclists before the collision. The driver misjudged her turn while attempting to pass the cyclists on the left but ended up colliding with one of them. The injured bicyclist received hospital treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, and the 54-year-old driver was arrested on charges of vehicular assault.
Developments in a previous incident on Ketron Island shed light on a grim conclusion to a homicide case. The male suspect, who had driven off the Ketron Island Ferry dock following the murder of his girlfriend, was located deceased underwater by the sheriff’s Marine Services and Dive Units.
